The official ranking points system is calculated on a 'two year' rollover compilation. For example, the points that are scored for this season ( 2007 - 2008 ) will be combined with the points scored for last season (2006 - 2007 ). So that at the end of this season - after the world championship - the two sets of points will be added together to give that players final ranking position for the start of next season ( 2008 - 09 ).

The first column in this table shows the 'provisional' ranking for each player after each tournament this season. The second column shows the player's official 2 year ranking after the 2005 - 07 seasons and the third column was their previous official ranking position at the beginning of the last season ( 2006 - 07 ).
